Educational background:
Susan Ji displayed an insatiable passion and talent for art at early age.  In 1982, she graduated with a bachelorˇ¦s of art from Luxun Art University of China.  She continued her studies of art at Central Fine Arts University in Beijing in 1985.  Upon her relocation to California, she proceeded to expand her knowledge of the arts by studying Western Art at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco in 1996.

Professional/other qualifications:
After college graduation, Susan first worked at Heilongjiang Academy of Arts, and then became an associate professor at Northern Correspondence Academy of Arts for several years.  However, her true talent is showcased in her numerous art pieces including illustrations, picture books, and wall paintings.  She published her picture book at the age of seventeen.  In 1987, she was selected, out of 28 other applicants, to be the primary artist of a seven story pagoda mural project, translated to be the ˇ§Ultimate Happiness Templeˇ¨ in Harbin.  Today, the murals in the pagoda continue to be a major attraction for visitors.  Thereafter, Susan moved to California, where she has also left her mark on a wall in a Buddhist Temple in South Bay, as well as a nightclub in San Francisco.
